About Oadby Drama
Oadby Drama is an Amateur Drama Group based in Leicestershire. We perform one act plays, dramas, comedies, children’s plays and murder mystery evenings. The group is open to those age 16 and over. We are a long standing group, formed in 1962 and we have won many awards for our plays in the All England Theatre Festival.
How do I join the group?
Come along to one of our regular Monday evening meetings. We meet most Monday's at the Elms Bushloe End Wigston from 7.30 onwards. We are in the Games Room (upstairs). You are welcome to to come and take part or just watch to see what we are up to. Let us know you are coming.
How much is membership?
Annual membership costs £25 (our year runs August to July) and new members pay a pro rata membership fee.
I haven't acted before! Can I join?
We are happy to welcome new members with acting experience or those who are interested in trying drama for the first time. You are welcome to come along for a few weeks to see if Oadby Drama is right for you.
Although lots of our members are experienced actors and directors, we are keen to develop our drama skills. We run regular workshops to improve our acting and stagecraft. We regularly read and workshop plays.
Can you perform a murder mystery at our event?
Our murder mystery evenings can be tailor made to suit your event. We can perform our murder mystery evening at a venue of your choice. We provide the entertainment, including the characters, action, clues and you solve the mystery! These can , be a great fundraiser or social event.
We have performed our very successful 'Murder at the Oscars', 'Great British Kill Off' and 'Mamma Mia it's a Murder' evenings to many groups.

Where can I see you perform?

I don't want to act, can I still be involved?
We welcome those who are interested in drama but don't want to act. We can't put on a successful production without props, costume, set design, lighting and sound. These are all important roles too. Please get in touch if you would like to get involved.

In 2014 we came joint runners up with Elegy for a Lady by Arthur Miller and picked up the award for Best Actress.
